Ascent Trip ReportHike with the LA Sierra Club HPS outings group - nice day, steady pace and bagged Jepson and Dobbs in the process. Ascend via Vivian Creek TH to San G, some XC to Jepson Peak, more XC to Dobbs Peak, and then descend Dobbs ridge to Vivian Creek and 2 mile hike back to the TH. LONG day - 10:30 of hiking, and approx 16 miles + covered. Dobbs ridge is HARD descending - lots of loss in a short time, no trail, and slippery. Definitely recommend hiking poles. One member of the group even wore microspikes to keep from slipping (she was the only one who didn't). Fun day in the mountains.
