Ascent Trip ReportWe used the hike up Washburn to provide a little more acclimatization in advance of heading to Granite Peak the next day. The route from Dunraven Pass follows a very easy, and well worn, trail from a paved parking area (complete with a washroom) to the summit fire lookout. The views along the way and from the top are excellent and certainly worth the walk. There are no routefinding or other difficulties to contend with here and if you're a strong hiker and already at least somewhat acclimated, then I'd recommend heading up either very early or in the late afternoon/evening (which is when we passed the area) to avoid the crowds on this objective.
