Ascent Trip Report

Second time was a charm, so to speak. The first 4.4 miles up 3N29 is a decent road, a bit washed out in some spots with the last mile somewhat overgrown but easily passable. Took a bike for the first 4.4 with only a few spots that I could ride up. The trail for the last 1.5 miles is severely overgrown. Given the temperature I wore shorts but really wished I had on pants. For geocachers, there is an easy to find can along the trail about a mile in on the east side of trail. Not much fun about this hike. The views were marginal; with better ones found on neighboring peaks. One snake sighting. The tall grass and brushy terrain would make a nice home for many though. Probably my least favorite hike so far on the Lower Peak list but then again I have yet to do Arrowhead Peak. I would probably recommend coming in from the north side once Mt Gleason road opens up again.
