Ascent Trip ReportWith Giovanni. I loved this hike. Took the Champney Brook Trail to the Champney Falls area, which was beautiful. Continued from there to the summit of Mount Chocorua, which is just a beautiful, picture-perfect peak of greenery and granite. Several granite rocks form an almost dome-like peak that is very photogenic. Descended same way we came (I actually had someone with me for this hike). The weather was beautiful, but it was extremely windy at the top which, after a little while, got chilly and forced us to descend about 150 feet where we found a nice rock to sit against that gave us shelter from the wind and an incredible view of Mount Washington off in the distance to the north, North Conway to the east and several beautiful lakes to the east and southeast.
