Ascent Trip Report

Drive SR 200 west of Plains, take signed Forest Access road up Weeksville Creek. Well signed to trailhead, about 3 miles on FR 887 and then left on FR 5587 to its end at the trailhead about 12(?) miles later.

From here, follow trail 368 keeping uphill (usually right) at forks until just below the east ridge of the peak with the lookout. A short distance below the ridge if you look up the trail you can see the ridge top junction with a wooden sign. Perhaps 30 yards (very approximate measure) before that junction a much less distinct trail goes left. There is a tree on the left side of the trail with a reflective marker on it; this left trail goes just before that tree. Follow this trail as it traverses the south slopes of the lookout peak. Below the saddle between the lookout and the highpoint, your trail will cross another trail ("X" junction). Go a bit farther and then head northerly up fairly open slopes to the summit.

On my GPS track, the southern segment is the preferred route unless you want to visit the lookout.
