Ascent Trip ReportTried to drive FR 4604, but it was closed by a slide. Approached via FR 332 and FR 4697 to its bermed end at about 5200'. Walked the old road, bashing through alders, to about 5450'. Some maps show a trail continuing, but what was there was possibly an old road bed overgrown not only with alders but also with firs. Very unpleasant, so we went up slope until we found the upper trail which we followed along the ridge to the summit areas.
It started raining, lots of lightning and thunder. Fortunately the ridge is wooded most of the way, and we got away with it. The wet alder bash back to the truck was very unpleasant.
