Ascent Trip Report

Take the South Fork Bull River road #410 (past the west side trailhead for Snowshoe Peak) to the signed junction with road 2272, which is followed to its end at a parking area. A carefully driven sedan should be able to get here in dry conditions. The location of the upper portion of this road did not match our maps, nor did the beginning of the trail.

From the parking take the steep trail (unsigned) uphill to where it intersects the trail shown on some maps. This trail is followed to the lookout on the summit. Watch for junctions so you don't miss a turn on the way down - there is no question about which way to go when upward bound. See the GPS track for details; the trails have been rerouted somewhat.

Note: We were told that the peak name is locally pronounced "Berry" as if there were no "a" in it.
