Ascent Trip Report

this was the goal for the day.. kind of funny it was the lowest peak of the day too... we climbed up the glen boulder because we figured we would get three peaks out of it, and we would see the famous glen boulder and climb the famous boott spur. it was a LONG hall into this mountain but its one of the only way into this mt. i wouldn't change which way we went up i thought we made the right choice vs. the rocky branch trail. the hike down from the boott spur was a piece of cake and we gained good time back from early on where we got onto a bad trail (ski trail) added on about a mile each way. we summit-ed the mountain and we parked the car at glen Ellis falls and realized we would either take the LONG path down (Isolation Trail/Rocky Branch/Road Walk) or climb all the way back up near the boott spur which just by the looks an height it was about 1500 incline back up there, and yes it does look impressive to that point. we choose the long path hoping someone might be willing to spare us the 3.2 miles on the road. unfortunately nobody offered... according to Kevin's hiking app we traveled a total of 18.96 miles making this hike the longest of our careers! unfortunately we id all this for one four thousand footer... :( i have now 9 peaks left for NH so bring it on... hoping to do some tomorrow we'll see how i feel. back to the Mt. this was a great hike, don't get side tracked on the ski trails and make it a in and out type deal. or a over night trip would be also good for this hike, it has plenty of side campsites an a shelter near the top, lol you might need it if you were like us but great hike not for un-experianced hikers advanced and long trails...
