Ascent Trip Report

Very windy day, had to fight to keep balance at top. Despite all the warnings about rattlesnakes from other trip reports, did not see any. The route is along a road (marked "closed", so we didn't drive on it). We donated some money to the mailbox for highpoint access and started hiking. One goes about a mile along the road, then you come to a gate, which you go through and head up the hill along a bunch of trails that go up the hill in several ways. The landscape is sandy/badlands. The former owner of the property is interred at the highpoint, which provides views of the plains of North Dakota, agricultural mounds, and a few scattered buttes. It was extremely windy, enough to push one off balance at the top.
