Ascent Trip ReportThe mountain is located in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Hiking to this low desert ridge is best in the winter months. Park headquarters is in Borrego Springs at: P.O. Box 299 , Borrego Springs, CA 92004. Tele: (619) 767-4684
This benchmark can be easily hiked from the south starting on highway 78. From the junction where Borrego Springs Road heads north to Yaqui Pass go east on highway 78 for 3.2 miles and park on the right by a call box just east of milepost 80. From here go northeast and then north up the ridge to the benchmark which may be marked by a stick in the air. The hike is fairly easy and takes about 45 minutes to the top. It is about one mile with an elevation gain of 500 ft. 2/96 RLC
