Ascent Trip ReportFrom Colville and Hwy 20 I took the Aladdin Road and drove towards Aladdin. 12.9 miles from Colville I turned right on FR 7015. Zero your odometer and go 6.2 miles and take the right fork. Go another 0.7 miles to the north ridge of Balcktail.
The north ridge has been thinned of trees, but it is still a mess with and the down trees laying on the forest floor. I found an old cat track behind a pile of slash and followed it towards the summit that has not been thinned. The cat track goes a little off to the right and then when I reached a corner of the thinning I left the track and climbed up the slope to the left, i contuned up and around the thicker forest until entered the brushy forest area where the summit is located. No views. Rainging with thunder and lightning overhead.
