Ascent Trip ReportI approached Addy Mountain from the town of Colville. I went east on hwy 20 and followed the signs into the Little Pend O'Reille Wildlife Refuge. When I got to the refuge headquarters, I zeroed my odometer and continued straight for 3.4 miles where I turned right on Cliff Ridge Road and then at 3.6 miles took the left fork. At 4.3 miles I crossed a cattle guard and entered the Colville National Forest. At 7.1 miles I turned right onto FR 150, at 8.0 miles I went through an open gate that is closed from Dec 1 - Mar 31 for wildlife protection. I stayed on this road for another 6.7 miles until it ended at a berm.
I hiked over the berm and down the road until it reached a wide area just east of the peak. i climbed the steep brushy slope all the way up to the ridge and then found the high point in the trees. No views. On the way back down the steep slope, I found the forelegs of an elk that had been recently cleaned off of all their nourishment.
I left the area and drove south at point 7.1 miles detailed above and eventually came out in Chewah on Hwy 395. This southern route has better roads.
