Ascent Trip Report

Hitched a ride from Ljungdalen to Kläppen, then walked into Helags Fjällstation. Cold, windy and wet evening...

Walked up to the glacier the next morning and then climbed a snow slope up towards the Sth ridge. On the ridge I met two Swedes who were dashing over the peak in running shoes! Reached the summit via the snowy Sth ridge, then descended via the Nth ridge back scored a nice glissade back down to the valley floor.

There was a lot of variation in the ground conditions.
In places the wind had stripped it back to boiler plate ice,
and then there was wind blown powder to plug through. Mostly it was either rimed rocks or compacted icy snow.

The weather cleared for a couple of minutes while back at the mountain station to see the summit and then the clouds rolled back in.
