Ascent Trip Report

Mountaineers climb of South Arete. Left Seattle around 9:30pm with Diana, arrived at Blue Lake TH around 12:30am. Got a few hours of sleep for a 6:00am start. Snow from the road, used crampons up to the top of ridge and start of climb. Party of six led by Stephanie, only 5 of us climbed, two rope teams due to equipment issues. I led and Ben followed. A great climb, lots of goats hanging out all over the route. Nice views of Cutthroat, looking forward that one in a few weeks. Stephanie, Ben, Sue, Diana and Wendel.
