Ascent Trip ReportThanks to information provided by Greg Jagielski, Ken Jones and I went via the Belmont Mill on the east side. From the mill, take the rough 2 1/2mile road (high clearance) to a turn in the road at 8850 and park (room for barely 1 vehicle) near the wash that gets you up to a saddle at 9200'. Then follow the ridge up to the main Hamilton ridgeline and go south to the peak. Ken Jones will post a GPS track so check for this when he gets it posted. A nice hike with about 2000 feet of elevation gain and less than 4 miles roundtrip. There is active mining going on the west side and roads that were previously open are probably closed while the mining takes place.
