Ascent Trip ReportMountaineers Intermediate climb of the East Ridge, party of six. I hopped in the car at 3am and headed to Mercer Island PR to pick up Barrett. We all met at the Ingalls Lake TH at 6am, started up the trail around 6:10am. Had some views of from Ingalls pass, but the weather deteriorated fast. We were getting spit on by rain as folks started the first pitch, and the cloud level dropped, didn't look good. But we pushed on and the rain somehow held. We saw Mountain Rescue on the way in and a helicopter picked up two climbers from two different parties in the basin around 10:30am. Not sure if or how they landed, we couldn't see it, but sure could hear it. Forecast was for 40mph wind gusts, which we didn't encounter until the South Ridge rappel. A fun climb, which I'm sure is amazing when it's done on a clear day. The descent was three singles and one double rope rappels.
Back to the cars by 8pm and home just before 11pm, a long day.
