Ascent Trip Report

Hot day! Went from west side up Wagon Canyon. Wagon Canyon Road ended about 0.9 miles before my planned trailhead, even though it shows on the map (Garmin) - looks as though the last part was blocked off by the DNWR. Very brief and mild Class 3 in one spot. Wagon Spring had water, but it was pretty manky. In places, the canyon is very scenic, with towering rock formations on either side. Tired calves made this one tougher than it should have been for me. It took a solid 50 minutes of driving to reach our trailhead from Ann Rd/US95. Collin's Subaru was up to the task, but a normal passenger car or wagon probably wouldn't do well.
