Ascent Trip ReportFrom I80, exit 30 we traveled north on Howard Blvd for .75 miles to the TH Parking on the right, signed "Berkshire Valley Wildlife Management Area".
The trail leaves the east side of the parking and climbs/winds generally northeast to the summit area. There are numerous side trails that I had difficulty with so what follows here is a detailed description of the route, which hopefully will be clear ... distances given are estimates only.
From the parking TH stay left at the first 3 trail junctions (all 50 yards apart), 100 yards after the 3rd junction the route arrives at a 4 way-junction (250 yards from TH), stay/continue straight for another 250 yards to a right turn, then continue for .4 miles to just left of the summit area (the high ground is visible to the right in open deciduous forest). Leave the trail here, as it bends/descends left, and bushwack right (east) 75 yards to the summit. The old concrete tower foundations are to one side of my chosen spot, GPS 441.91565,-74.62858.
