Ascent Trip Report

The Lonesome Lake Trail was nice. It was muddy with a steady grade in the beginning, but once it reached Lonesome Lake it turned into a wonderful, flat trail across several bog bridges. After that, it was a rough climb on the Kinsman Ridge Trail to the summit of Cannon. Lots of mud, scrambling, and using hands and knees to pull myself onto the next rock. I wanted to loop around Lonesome Lake on the descent, but I missed the turn and ended up on the Hi-Cannon Trail. This trail was very steep with a 15 foot ladder. The ladder was pretty scary and not as sturdy as that on Mt. Willey. Overall though, it was a quick climb.
