Ascent Trip Report

Michael Schwartz's directions still apply today and no need to repeat them, however a few changes are noted here. The pavement on Mountain Road ends at 2.7 miles just past the last house on the right. I parked here and this was my TH .... the road to the summit was much too rough for my dodge caravan, for ATVs only. The route (road) follows the Utility Pole Line all the way to the summit, ignore all side roads and just stay with the Utility Line.
The final road to the summit with the Utility Line leaves the main road on the right, just before the Old Stone Ruins, at about .75 miles from TH ..... a grave site is now to one side of the Ruins, a memorial to "Emil A Mann, 04/10/06".
The road arrives at the summit at 1 mile, 25 minutes, from the TH.

The summit area houses a fenced-in Communication Tower, American Tower Co, Mahwah unit. After checking out the area I chose the actual HP to the right, 25 yards before the Tower, as the road arrives at the the Tower ..... a rock outcrop in the woods, my GPS 41.12108,-74.20017.

This hike can be easily done together-with Herman Hill .... the trail to its summit continues past the Old Stone Ruins.
