Ascent Trip Report

now THIS was a cool trip, into BC's proposed Muskwa-Kechika (Northern Rockies) Wilderness. Santa and I drove up the Alcan to Muncho Lake Lodge and got flown into Mayfield Lakes in a floatplane w/ 2 weeks food and our Folbot. first we did a 4 day hike up into the peaks north to visit with Dwayne from Chetwynd, the guy organizing the fite to protect this HUGE roadless area. Vey informative. While in this valley we got up these 2 easy summits. Then we paddled down the Kechika River back to the Liard jct @ the hwy. we were only the 2nd party to paddle the river all summer. the 1st being a solo german who'd flipped and had to walk out a week! paddled rite upon a pack of wolves one dawn. awesome place!
