Ascent Trip Report

From US 64 I took FR 712 (excellent) and FR 91 (rougher) to a parking spot slightly less than a half mile form the peak. The road goes farther but this looked like a good parking spot. My map showed a track off the FR going nearly to the top on the north flank of the mountain. I ended up taking a circuitous route following various looking for this. As is often the case in these New Mexico mountains that have been and are still being logged, the paths of logging tracks don't necessarily conform to anything on a map. I did manage to follow various track remnants to within a couple of hundred yards of the top. On the way down I just bushwhacked on a GPS heading to the road.
