Ascent Trip ReportWas camping in nearby Warren (moose hillock campground - awesome selection btw) with a friend and his son. Opted to knock out another 4000 footer with our two boys (ages 8 and 9). Hit the Glencliff trailhead at 820 and started our way up. The first couple miles were pretty easy with moderate portions. No major issues with wet/muddy portions were encountered at all. As we got within .5-1 mile of the join with the moosilauke carriage road we hit a strenuous portion. My buddy and I kept our struggling to ourselves as the boys ran up ahead. Eventually we met up with the carriage road banged a left and started the remaining .9 to the summit. This part was very quick and easy. One above the trees we cooled immediately with some strong, cold winds from the west. We made our way to the summit took some pics and then hid aside the manmade rock wind blockers for a quick food recharge. Eventually we geared up and made our way back down the same trail. Great hike that didn't feel as strenuous as others. The views on the summit were outstanding due to a clear day. Highly recommended. We were back to he parking lot by 115 and spent the afternoon in the campground pool.
