Ascent Trip Reportdirections to trailhead in the AMC guide and in previous posts are correct. All turns starting at Rt3 are signed "tower".
I was a bit concerned because the USGS maps indicate that the last 3 miles of road before the trailhead are "4WD", but it was easily passable in my civic, despite being a bit rough in spots.
Ascent trail (Coot Tr) a bit wet but in pretty good shape for a straight-up-the-mountain former jeep road. Descent trail (Bobcat Tr) has better footing. Great views from tower, but amazing clifftop views on the side path to the N.
