Ascent Trip ReportGot in contact with the Wuebbels prior to coming out and they were kind enough to email me a flyer with some information and this year’s dates. As others have mentioned they only open it up for the first weekend of June, July, August, and September. That is to say it is the first ‘full’ weekend and only Saturday and Sunday during daylight hours. No pets allowed either. If you type in 688 West Charles Mound Road, Scales, IL it will lead you right there.
The hike itself is a 1.25 mile walk up a dirt driveway. It’s pretty with overhanging trees. Woohoo, the first visitor of 2012.
