Ascent Trip ReportDean and I found a route that is easier than others we have heard about.
Drive to the end of the jeep trail in the NE corner of Section 26, SSE of the peak. This is most easily approached from the southerly approach, via Kinsley Mountain Road (signed off Hwy 93A) and then follow your map. On the date of our trip, we felt a carefully driven passenger sedan could have made it almost as far as we did.
We dropped across the wash north of our parking place to the next ridge, which we followed to the false summit. Then we turned north and with a minimal drop followed the ridge to the true summit.
Earlier reports indicate that the summit cairn was obscure. We slightly relocated it and made it more obvious. Not many entries since the register was placed.
