Ascent Trip Report

Again, I have been up to this peak many times. However, the most memorable one was with my friend Terri Lorenzen. She was, and is still, not a hiker. I talked her into doing this one because of it's short length vs. reward ratio. It was steep enough to get her lungs quite a workout, however, I guess it didn't have the intended effect. She is less of a hiker today. I must admit, it was fun to watch her work to get up that hill.

The view from these cliff tops are awe inspiring. It's a great birding spot as well. If you want a better workout, you can start at the Lower Hawksbill Parking area which is further North that the Upper Trail. I have decended by the lower trail on accident, which left me with the dilemma of going back up the mountain or a hike back south on Skyline Drive. I was beat and chose the road.
