Ascent Trip ReportA beatiful warm dry day with great visibility. Climbed up out of Whitehouse Crossing onto the ridge and over South Brace (large cairn) and then onto Brace (even larger cairn with a pole and flag). Then took the Mt. Frissell trail out to the Highest Point in CT and then onto Mt. Frissell. Came back onto South Taconic trail heading North and went up and over Alander Mountain taking the blue Eats loop back to the South Taconic after stopping at the cabin for lunch in the shade. Saw only two other hikers this fine Friday, one just walking and the other geocaching. Ran out of water (3.5L) on the way back near, Brace Mountain, so I filled up at a stream and treated with iodine. Quads were tight towrds the end on this 14 mile trek.
