Ascent Trip Report

From NM 518 I took FR 437 (just south of Talpa) 8.7 mi. to a small meadow on the left. An abandoned road heads up the canyon at the back of this open area. The Forest Service built a massive berm and erected metal poles to discourage vehicle traffic. You can follow abandoned forest tracks to within a quarter mile of the hp coordinates, and it's not a difficult bushwhack from there. There are several intersections. I'll post a GPS track to illustrate. Someone had erected a small cairn at the hp which I repaired.
