Ascent Trip Report

This was the eighth time I have completed this trail. I was happy to ascend this time with two of my nephews, Ben and Jack Hays. They made perfect hiking partners as both were strong and didn't complain once about being on a trail for eight hours. We were lucky to have a remotely clear day, so the views were spectacular. I have been there when the haze wasn't so thick, but this was June when it's typically hazy if not shrouded in clouds. I'd say that half of my eight ascents were into white-out fog conditions. I hope it gave them a lust for the mountains as my first trip here in 1988!
