Ascent of Burnhope Seat-East Slope on 2010-10-11
|Date:||Monday, October 11, 2010|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
|Peak:||Burnhope Seat-East Slope|
| Elevation:||746 m / 2448 ft|
Ascent Trip ReportThe highest point of the historic county of Durham is the trig point at 746m. The true summit (and Marilyn) is slightly west and formerly in Cumberland. I visited both with GPS and altimeter in hand. It's best to come in wellington boots and with walking poles; its reputation as one of the boggiest hills in England is not ill-founded.
