Ascent of Burnhope Seat - East Slope on 2010-10-11| Date: | Monday, October 11, 2010 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Burnhope Seat - East Slope | | Location: | UK-England | | Elevation: | 746 m / 2448 ft |
Ascent Trip ReportThe highest point of the historic county of Durham is the trig point at 746m. The true summit (and Marilyn) is slightly west and formerly in Cumberland. I visited both with GPS and altimeter in hand. It's best to come in wellington boots and with walking poles; its reputation as one of the boggiest hills in England is not ill-founded.
