Ascent Trip Report

The highest point of the historic county of Durham is the trig point at 746m. The true summit (and Marilyn) is slightly west and formerly in Cumberland. I visited both with GPS and altimeter in hand. It's best to come in wellington boots and with walking poles; its reputation as one of the boggiest hills in England is not ill-founded.
