Ascent of Wittenberg Mountain on 2012-05-18| Date: | Friday, May 18, 2012 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Wittenberg Mountain | | Location: | USA-New York | | Elevation: | 3780 ft / 1152 m |
Ascent Trip ReportHad an easy time coming over from Cornell. The crack wasn't all that bad. Could've taken the walkaround but went straight down the crack. The rope left there was helpful but slippery and getting warm. Used my own rope to lower my pack. The crack isn't all that.
Beautiful view from the peak. No one else showed up. It was fantastically clear with views from Greylock to High Point. The Shawangunk ridge was highly visible with Skytop just next to Ashokan. It was the perfect day to finish the 35.
