Ascent Trip Report

From NM 518 I took forest rd. 76 to the turnoff for the Duran Canyon campground and followed the road through the campground to the trailhead (the map shows the road continuing, but it's closed to vehicles just above the campground. I walked about a half mile very gradually uphill, forded the stream next to the trail and then started bushwhacking upward. It was quite slow-- steep and lots of downed trees to climb over. On the way down I took a slightly more direct route on GPS heading.
