Ascent Trip ReportGreat day for a hike with the kids. Today included myself, Cindy, Amy and her friend Maggie and our dog Toby. Pack Monadnock is my favorite family hike. Today was a perfect day for it - sunny & warm with a nice breeze. We had things to do so didn't start until after 3. 1hr to the top with plenty of stops along the way, a short while at the top and 45 min down. Plenty of parking at the base Miller State Park which was free since it hasn't officially opened yet (bathrooms were closed and no water at top). We take Wapack up as its steeper and has a few scrables and some nice overlooks. Marion Davis Tr down as its not as steep.
Miller State park is perfect for the whole family. Grandparents can drive to the top and bring the picinic lunch. The kids and dog love to scramble up the rocks here and there and the views are spectacular.
Best time to go is in June and July when there are plenty of wild blueberries.
