Ascent Trip Report

Took the Alander Mountain Trail from the Mt Washington State Forest HQ. Took a couple hours to ascend. Had to cross a few streams and brooks across rocks or fallen trees. The first two thirds of the ascent include many large hills so be prepared to do some uphill work on the trip back. The summit was extremely rewarding with views far into MA, CT, and NY. Trip back took around an hour. This is definitely the best peak in southwestern mass/northwestern ct area -- bald summit with grass and rocky outcrops and easily the best views in the area. A must-climb.
