Ascent of Clark Mountain on 2012-05-11| Other People: | Solo Ascent Only Party on Mountain | | Date: | Friday, May 11, 2012 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Clark Mountain | | Location: | USA-Missouri | | Elevation: | 1440 ft / 438 m |
Ascent Trip ReportI followed the Dave Covill Trip Report and drove up the rocky road .6 mile until the road condition deteriorated. Then I walked up the road to the summit area. Beyond the little comm building I wandered back into the forest about 100 yds until I saw the highest boulder with a little cairn on top. There was a little 10 ft section of tower material laying on the ground, so I leaned it up against the boulder and climbed up the tower section like a ladder. I found a hand hold, a foot hold, and then plopped my butt on top of the rock. Easiest Class 3 boulder I have climbed.
