Ascent Trip Report

From my pleasant stop at the Ripley County hp, I headed south on 101 to the village of Sunman, then east on Eastern Road which jogs and becomes Dearborn Rd. A half mile s.of the hp coordinates I turned left onto Fackler Rd. The road rose slightly toward a wooded area. At the north end of the woods I turned into the drive of a newly built house because my GPS told me I was less than 200 yards due east of the hp coordinates. I knocked on the door, found nobody home but a junkyard dog (in a cage) who immediately went beserk at my presence (and continued barking until I left). Since it was only about 100 yards from the back of the house to the hp coordinates, I scurried up a muddy track into the woods. There was just enough rise to this track to make it credible that I was indeed at the right point when I hit my GPS coordinates in a couple of minutes. Said goodby to the angry dog and hurried off.
