Ascent Trip Report

From I-77 I took Stone Creek Rd. north to Buehler Rd. (left); left at the intersection onto Stucky Valley Rd. and then the next right Rocky Ridge Rd. At the crest of the hill my GPS put me 0.25 mi. from the hp coordinates and in front of a house with a sign saying the Greens lived there. Many barking dogs greeted me as I knocked on the door. A resident gave me permission to cross his property and thanked me for asking: "lotsa folks just go up there without asking." It's a short walk across a field to the hp area. Bob Schwab noted briars at the edge of the field just north of the hp coordinates, but they weren't bad; might be later in the season. Not obvious where the hp is. There are variety of rock and dirt piles, some probably man made.I found pieces of concrete suggesting the foundation of an abandoned structure. Allow a few extra minutes to wander enough to satisfy yourself you've hit the right spot.
