Ascent Trip ReportTo start with, the approach dirt road is one of the best I've ever been on. A passenger car could easily make it most of the way to where I parked. A couple notes about the road:
1. Just before a gate, there is a road going off to the right- take it because it goes over a cattle guard and then reconverges
2. At the place where the main road makes a hard right turn, go straight- there is another road that goes to the right in 100 yards or so that is much better
If one wants to drive further the road on the topo map still exists, but the turnoff to reach it is now about 100 yards further down the road.
As for the hike, once off the road, the hike is brutally steep, particularly if the weather is warm. Once at the ridge, the hike was much more enjoyable with some easy terrain followed by some class 2-3 big boulders. Great views from the summit in all directions.
