Ascent Trip ReportI agree with other trip reports in that there is no real natural ground here with the development of the Villages. But made the best of it. I parked in the Mallory Hill golf club for the first two points. PB #1 is just up the road in the Villages of Mallory Square. Despite the developed land my GPS put it at about 148 ft. PB #2 is south on Morse Blvd at the next circle where it intersects Bonita Blvd. The high point seems to have been leveled out and was reading about 147 ft.
For PB #3 spot, I went back to my car and drove south on Morse Blvd across 466A to the next circle and parked at the Vilages Public Safety Administrative offices (Fancy name for a fire ststion.) This allowed me to approach the high point from the west, shortest distance up to the landfill. I climbed to the first fence (barbrd wire but no signage so I continued up through to the next fence which was signed quite largely No Trespassing. At this point I could almost see over into the landfill area so I decided to go the extra 5 feet to confirm what I had already expected from my GPS and topo map location. The highest point of natural ground on the hill was reading somewhere in the high 130's. There were higher dirt mounds in the landfill but were clearly not natural. This area should be discounted as a high point candidate. I guess they needed to level the ground out to make the landfill. Quite a bummer as this spot produced the best views.
