Ascent Trip ReportA Friday afternoon Solo Peak Bagging of Carr Peak can be a vertical wonderland. I was a few weeks early to enjoy the full foliage of the renowned Aspen Groves, most of which remain in excellent condition in the higher elevations of the area. The trail from Reef Townsite is rocky through and through for the most part - except in several extended deciduous and conifer growth zones. I would keep this in mind if you start-out late, as it could effect some hikers return time as safety warrants a slower pace in several sections...especially when hiking solo with nobody else on the trail. Avg. Grade 58.9% GPS Route Available.
