Ascent Trip ReportDecided to go up South Baldface and loop over to North Baldface...glad I did. Just after the shelter the trail climbs a series of ledges that would be impossible going down or up when wet or icy. This day was bone dry and going up was still an adventure. I didn't want to try going back down even in these "ideal" conditions, but since I did the loop there was no need to use the Slippery Brook alternative back down. This was by far some of the best scenery overall, rivaled by only some of the much higher ridge/above tree-line hikes.
