Ascent Trip ReportDay trip from tourist city Sousse:
Planned to take a rental car, but was strongly recommended NOT to use this type of transportation. I took a minibus (Louage) to Kasserine and found a taxi driver. We drove 9 km east/south east direction Gafka to a water tower, then turned right to Chambi national park. At park entry we needed an authorization. Then back again to Kasserine to get authorization, and we were through gate. Taxi driver did not like the steep road, so he stopped at 1100 masl, but a normal car could make it almost to the top. There is a tourist top with at elevation 1522 meters, with a sign of 1544 meters. I made the easy walk further to the true summit 1544 meters. 2 guys told that this was a military area, but I had not passed any sign or fence. The true summit is a small square of concrete very close to the fence around the antenna.
