Ascent Trip Report

My 97-year-old dad joined me for this one. I expected him to wait in the rig while I hiked to the summit from wherever I had to park. But we were able to drive all the way to the final gate below High Point, and the GPS said it was only .3 mile by road to the top. Dad got out and started walking up the road to see how he would feel, and before I knew it he was out of sight while I was still getting ready. I caught him as he approached the top, and we enjoyed the summit together. The man is amazing!
