Ascent Trip Report

From Pa. 259 we turned right (NW) on Yeager Hollow Rd. It starts out paved, turns to dirt and gravel and eventually not much more than an ATV track. We parked at a spot just a hair under 1 mi. from the highpoint by GPS. We followed a forest track SSW from our parking spot but it soon diverged from my GPS heading so we started bush whacking, picking up bits of forest track here and there, but mostly bushwhack. It turned out to be a tougher bushwhack than most with rocks, dense laurel groves and briars. When we got to the top, we discovered the hp is only a bit more than 100 feet off a forest road/ATV track. We followed a variety of forest tracks down in a route that was a bit more circuitous but much easier, hitting a track underneath electric power lines about a third of a mile NW of our parking spot. The way up was not very memorable, although the return route provided nice views.
