Ascent Trip ReportI met my buddy Dan here to snag California's lowest CoHP. Dan had spent the day mountain biking near Folsom Lake in preparation for a triathlon while I drove up from Pinnacles Nat'l Monument where Aidan earned his final Junior Ranger Badge of the trip the day before. The good news is that the peak remains accessible and due to the antenna trash on the summit, it looks likely to remain accessible since nobody wants to live too close to stuff like that. We left my car at the In 'N Out Burger and took Dan's car to the "trailhead." Here are our directions: From Bidwell & Iron Point Rd, head east 1.1 miles to Carpenter Hill Rd (should be easy to remember). Turn left and then make your first left on to Branding Iron Court. Park out of the way at the southwest corner of the circle and follow the fenceline first southwest, then west, then northwest to the summit. We found the BM and wandered around to confirm that we covered the high ground. It took us all of 10 minutes to walk up, take pictures, and walk down.
