Ascent Trip Report

Bill Blunk and I climbed the West Ridge Route which we wrote and described for the Climbers Guide to Glacier National Park by J. Gordon Edwards. Upon reaching the summit we found no evidence of a cairn or evidence of any previous ascent. We built a cairn and left a small register in a metal film can.

Our ascent was in August 1987 but I could be off by a day or two either way.

Subsequent climbers (Holmberger) reported that the film can was destroyed by lightning.
