Ascent Trip ReportPB list 2 Candidate High Point Areas, both at the southwest corner of the County.
From the intersection of hwy #199/23 at north side of Fostoria we drove north on #23(Co Line) for 2 miles to a left on Pelton Road, .3 miles right on Gwilyn Road, then turned into the first driveway on the right, house #3141. I went to the side door, no one home, except for a loud-yapping small dog. I took the liberty to quickly walk the back yard fence, natural high ground around the in-ground pool needs to be questioned.
We then drove back to Pelton/#23 corner, turned left on #23 for 70 yards to another left onto a long driveway signed "Dodge and Fennel". We drove the driveway, staying right at the first fork, to the Dodge Residence.
The son of the owner answered the door, he was doing work in his Mom's kitchen. The Dodges bought the place a while back and were not aware that this area was the CoHP. He gave me permission to walk the back yard, as I left I told him, "Make sure to tell your Mom she is sitting on Wood CoHP".
I walked the back yard and explored the dense line of bushes/trees with their back neighbor (#3141 Gwilyn Rd).
I concluded that the HP is at the back/right corner of the Dodge property, inside the trees.
Not much here, this is a drive-up to the Pizza Hut (west of the Co Line) on hwy #23 located .25 miles south of the intersection #199/23 and with all of the construction the natural ground location is a personal choice, mine is to its north.
"ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END."
