Ascent Trip ReportTook the Red Blazed Trail from East St. It was early March and most of the trail was covered in either snow or ice. I consider myself a novice climber, and the two rock scrambles up the east face were some of the most technical climbing I've ever done. You really need to pay attention to where you place your hands and feet or you could easily fall. The summit offers a breathtaking 360 degree view plus another nice view just below it to the east. I was thinking about doing Mt Frissell as well but I didn't like the condition of the trail (more ice) so I turned around. I ended up falling violently on the way down and bruising my tailbone but I eventually made it back to my car.
