Ascent of Macomb Mountain on 2012-03-10| Date: | Saturday, March 10, 2012 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Macomb Mountain | | Location: | USA-New York | | Elevation: | 4370 ft / 1331 m |
Ascent Trip ReportWent up Macomb; very easy climb from Clear Pond until the slide. I don't own crampons and would not suggest trying this again without them. Also, don't go down the slide (winter especially; the summer trip I did here would be possible but not fun). Up is definitely the answer. We went slow with our group, but that's quite alright. The view from Macomb's slide is possibly the best in the Adirondacks.
